In the third quarter of the year 2021, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos will move to the new position as executive chair of the Amazon board. It is very much confirmed that Andy Jassy who is currently the CEO of Amazon Web Services will serve as CEO of Amazon.
Bezos served as Company’s CEO since the day it has been founded, in 1994. In Bezos’s work span, the company grew from a book store to a giant online retailer that has each and every kind of product you have been searching for.
“Being the CEO of Amazon is a deep responsibility, and it’s consuming. When you have a responsibility like that, it’s hard to put attention on anything else,” commented Bezos in an email announcing the change. “As Exec Chair I will stay engaged in important Amazon initiatives but also have the time and energy I need to focus on the Day 1 Fund, the Bezos Earth Fund, Blue Origin, The Washington Post, and my other passions.”
Being Amazon’s CEO, the wealth of Bezos is $180 billion(net worth). Being on a chair not only skyrocketed wealth but fame too. Bezos’ transition to executive chairman of Amazon’s board will mean he’ll be slightly more removed from the day-to-day business of running the nearly $1.7 trillion company, allowing him to focus his “energies and attention on new products and early initiatives.”
Jassy is also working with the company since 1997, it’s heading the AWS team since 2003 and named as CEO of AWS in 2016. The company had a great name under the leadership of Jeff Bezos.
