Jio Fiber Users can now make Video Calls From Smart TV by using Phone’s Camera.

Reliance Jio introduces a brand new function for all Jio Fiber Users. Jio Fiber users can now make video calls from their TVs without requiring an external camera or webcam. This feature enables you to make big-screen video calls by using the Mobile camera as a webcam.

This feature is possible through the JioJoin app. Customers can also use the JioJoin app on their mobile devices to make voice calls using landlines. This feature has been given the name ‘Camera on Mobile’.

This “Camera on Mobile” feature is rolling out to both Android and iOS users. People can experience this feature even at 2.4 GHz. But for better clarity, Jio Fiber recommends switching to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band with a modem.

How JioFiber Users Can Use Camera On Mobile feature

To avail of this feature, users first require to install the JioJoin app from the App Store and Google Play Store. For this, Your device must be running at least Android 6.0 or iOS 10.0.

After downloading this, they will then have to configure the 10-digit JioFiber number (Landline number). JioFiber users can configure landline numbers on up to 6 devices that include smartphones and Jio Set-Top Boxes.

In case the user is not home, they will be able to configure parallel ringing on their Jio mobile number so that they don’t miss a call.

Before this, two companies OnePlus and Xiaomi introduces TV-only webcams to enable large-screen video calls when people are indoors with the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the feature brings by Jio brings additional convenience to JioFiber users because it eliminates the need to purchase another device to make video calls over the TV.

However, the video call quality will be low as most of the people use phone enables video feeds to the recipient over Wi-Fi, which can reduce the quality level. Most affordable smartphones also don’t even have a high-quality selfie camera to provide a great video calling experience.

Before this, OnePlus and Xiaomi launch TV-only webcams to enable large-screen video calls when people are indoors with the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Jio’s stunning feature brings additional convenience to JioFiber users.

Jiofiber users do not need to because it eliminates the need to purchase another device to make video calls over the TV.
